Lené’s mamaw calls these cookies scrumptious, and we couldn’t agree more. A simple, no-fuss recipe that never disappoints.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter (1 cup) and powdered sugar ( cup) until light and smooth.

  3. Add the vanilla extract (1 tsp) and orange extract (1 tsp), mixing until combined.

  4. Stir in the chopped pecans (½ cup), then gradually add the flour (2 cups), mixing just until a soft dough forms.

  5. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch) and place on a baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.

  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the bottoms of the cookies are lightly browned while the tops remain pale and white.

  7. Remove from the oven and, while still hot, roll the cookies in powdered sugar to coat.

  8. Allow the cookies to cool slightly, then roll them in powdered sugar a second time.

  9. Cool completely before serving.
